Voter Registration Deadline is July 5 for August 2 Primary Election

FLAGSTAFF — The deadline for Coconino County residents to register to vote in the Aug. 2 Primary Election is Tuesday, July 5.

The qualifications to become a registered voter are:  You must be a U.S. citizen; be 18 years old by Election Day; reside within Coconino County; and not have any felony convictions, unless your civil rights have been restored.

Registered voters who have moved, changed their name or wish to change their political party affiliation must re-register by the voter registration deadline.

To verify that your voter registration is current and accurate we encourage people to check their voter registration information at https://my.arizona.vote or by calling the Elections Office prior to the July 5 voter registration deadline.

The August 2 Primary Election is an open partisan primary, meaning a voter who is registered with a recognized political party will receive the ballot for the political party indicated on their voter registration form.  The recognized political parties for the 2022 elections are Democratic, Republican and Libertarian.  If a voter is registered with no party affiliation or with an unrecognized political party (Party Not Designated, Independent, Green or Other), the voter must designate a Republican, Democratic or City/Town Only ballot when requesting an early ballot or voting at the polls.

Citizens may print off a voter registration application or register to vote online at www.coconino.az.gov/elections. Click on “Voter Registration”. Another option is to go to www.servicearizona.com, Voter Registration and click on “Register to Vote.”

Signed voter registration forms must be dated no later than Tuesday, July 5.
