Final preparations are being made but volunteers are urgently needed for the upcoming Flagstaff Teachers Supply Drive.
“All systems are go for the fourth annual Suddenlink / Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Teachers Supply Drive on August 5-8, taking place at Sam’s Club and the two Walmart stores,” said Regina Salas, executive assistant to the president and CEO of the chamber.
“Check out the video promoting Teachers Supply Drive. Banners and signs are up at the three locations,” she said.
Sponsored by Suddenlink and the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, the drive will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 through 7 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 8.
Sam’s Club has already started to accept supply donations. The Walmart stores will receive cash donations.
“Your support will go a long way,” Salas said.
Donations of new and needed school supplies can include:
- Copy paper — white and colored
- Pencils
- Ink pens
- Sticky notes
- Glue sticks
- Dry erase markers & erasers
- Tape
- Headphones
- Colored pens and pencils
- Staplers and staples
- Kleenex
- Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes
- Checks / cash are accepted in any dollar amount and every cent will be used to purchase supplies for our teachers
“As in previous years, the tremendous success of the drive is attributed to the support of more than 100 volunteers who help in many ways during the drive and distribution,” Salas said. “The supply drive last year gathered more than $40,000 in supplies and distributed to Flagstaff K-12 teachers. Be a part of this community-wide drive by volunteering.”
