FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona University (NAU) have selected Valeria Chase for the position of Off Campus Life and Neighborhood Liaison.

Throughout the hiring process, Chase displayed the characteristics and work experience to make this position successful in its core responsibilities, including community building and engagement, strengthening student and long-term resident relationships and educating students on City policies and procedures. Her understanding of NAU, neighborhood issues and the interests of Flagstaff residents will allow her to address concerns and continue to build and further relationships.

“This position plays an important role in bridging the relationships between the university, the city, and the neighborhoods, and Valeria brings a strong understanding of each,” said NAU President Rita Cheng. “Her existing connections with long-term residents and students will allow her to enhance cooperation and communication.”
