That’s why many of the donations to United Way of Northern Arizona are used to support proven programs that work to prevent homelessness; give shelter to those who need temporary safe housing to escape domestic abuse; or transition those who are chronically homeless to a more stable future.
Those donations are also used to support innovative new programs to address homelessness.
For example, after Flagstaff Shelter Services purchased the former Crown Motel this spring and converted the rooms into emergency housing, UWNA provided a grant to hire a full-time manager for the new complex. It’s estimated The Crown will help close to 1,000 people annually, not only with temporary housing, but with a series of wraparound services, including medical care, behavioral health, and programs to rehouse clients.
Please consider a donation to UWNA so we can continue to help our friends, neighbors and fellow residents stay safe with dignity at this perilous time.
