Whether your interest is helping people meet basic needs like food and shelter; inspiring youth through educational and sport programs; assisting people facing disabilities or disease; or ensuring that victims of domestic abuse have a safe place to go, you’ll find organizations that need you.
Of course United Way of Northern Arizona is another organization always looking for volunteers, particularly during the summer when the threat of wildfire and flooding increases.
UWNA coordinates volunteer efforts during emergencies for both the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. Last summer we had 17 volunteer crisis-response events with 400 volunteers working almost 1,550 hours to help with post-Tunnel and Pipeline Fire cleanup events, replenishing sandbags in neighborhoods, and a massive effort to build hundreds of thousands of new sandbags for anticipated flooding in burn scar areas.
If you are interested in volunteering to help out during times of crisis, you can register at
Volunteer Hub and we’ll reach out to you as opportunities become available.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your guide.
