For Board member Erika Harding, part of the Commercial Banking team at Wells Fargo, the decision to support UWNA has to do with a commitment to “Living United.”
“I support United Way because time and time again they have proven we are stronger together in times of crisis,” she says in the video above.
This year, the crisis that’s been on all of our minds is coronavirus. In the very first days of the shutdown, UWNA created a special fund to focus on getting needed resources to organizations on the front line of the crisis. In the past eight months, the COVID-19 Fund has disbursed $445,711 to 21 nonprofits and governmental groups providing basic needs.
Brett Larson, a program manager at W.L. Gore who also serves on the Board, notes that the COVID-19 Fund is just the most recent example of how United Way is there for our friends and neighbors in times of trouble.
“The United Way has served our community for many years, distributing donations where they can have the biggest impact in our local communities,” he says in the video below.
