This exercise provides Flagstaff Pulliam Airport personnel and first responders the ability to evaluate and focus on critical components of emergency preparedness at the airport. The insights drawn from this event will be vital in updating Pulliam’s Airport Emergency Plan.
To help out, the airport needs volunteers who can be available for the entire day, checking in at 9 am for assignments and then participating until 6 pm.
Although this is a simulated emergency exercise, it is designed to reflect the sounds, actions, and scenes of an actual plane accident. If you are uncomfortable with crowds, loud noises, alarming situations, or small spaces, this is not the volunteer experience for you.
Most volunteers will be assigned to portray uninjured passengers. Those who are selected to be injured volunteers may be provided mock triage and treatment on-scene and even transported to the hospital. Before the exercise begins, you’ll be briefed on the incident, the type of injuries or symptoms you should simulate (if any), and what actions are expected of you.
Volunteer sign-ups will be handled online through a dedicated page on the Volunteer Hub website. If you are already a volunteer registered on Volunteer Hub, just use your existing user name and password. If you are new to Volunteer Hub, you’ll need to create an account.
Thank you for considering this important volunteer opportunity that will help ensure that our airport can respond effectively in the case of a critical aviation emergency. |
