The Gods of Comedy —April 21
|
Theatrikos is proud to bring Ken Ludwig’s divine farce, The Gods of Comedy, to the Flagstaff stage. The play is a comedic whirlwind of divine intervention and scholarly chaos, centered around a young woman who invokes the gods of Ancient Greece to save her love life. As the gods step in, hilarity ensues in the form of screwball deities, a lost manuscript of a Greek tragedy, and uproarious predicaments.
Adam Wintz, director, shares his enthusiasm for the play. “Working with this cast of talented comedic actors has been incredible. Some cast members are experienced stage veterans, and some are performing for the first time. All are hilarious and have great comedy instincts.”
Heather Gallegos, portraying the muse Thalia, believes the audience is in for a treat. “The audience will enjoy this play because it is a comedic farce which takes the audience to Greece to meet academics, Gods, and an ambitious janitor. It is fun, fast-paced, and a well-rounded comedic adventure,” she says.
The Gods of Comedy promises a night filled with laughter and absurdity, as the audience is taken on a wild ride through Ancient Greece, modern academia, and the chaotic world of love.
The Gods of Comedy runs March 29 to April 21.

|
Theatrikos is proud to partner with NAU. NAU’s student run musical theatre club Jacks On Broadway brings Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella to the Theatrikos stage in April.
This production is a retelling of the classic fairy tale Cinderella, featuring stellar performances and breathtaking costumes. From the charming Cinderella herself to the iconic stepsisters and stepmother, familiar characters will come to life alongside some delightful new additions.
Paige Pryor, actor for Ella (Cinderella) stresses the connection and dedication of the cast to this show, saying “this talented cast brings to life a story of love, humor, and self-discovery which is a theme that the world loves to rediscover time and time again.”
Anissa Baca, the technical director behind Cinderella and past Jacks On Broadway hits like The Dream Studio and Heathers, at Theatrikos the past two years, expressed pride in the club’s latest endeavor, “This is the most technical show our club has been able to produce so far, and we are really proud of it. We’re super excited to show you all!”
Reagan Metz, president of Jacks On Broadway, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the collective effort poured into the show by the entire team. “Our board, cast, and crew have poured their hearts and souls into Cinderella,” Metz said. “We’re confident it will be our best production yet!”
Jacks on Broadway’s Cinderella runs April 26—28.
