| We are thrilled to invite you to a special event celebrating the joy of reading and early literacy! In partnership with Read On Arizona and United Way, we are hosting our very first “For the Love of Reading” Literacy Fair on Saturday, February 22nd, at Killip Elementary Schoolfrom 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This event is designed to promote early literacy skills for children from birth to age 8, and we would love for you to join us for a day full of fun, learning, and community connection!
At the Literacy Fair, we will have a variety of engaging activities for families and children to enjoy. You’ll be able to participate in literacy workshops that provide simple and fun ways to support your child’s reading development with easy tips and activities that can be done at home. There will also be story time with Coco the Comet, Louie the Lumberjack, and the Tooth Fairy, who will be reading stories and adding extra magic to the event. Children will also have the opportunity to take part in hands-on activities designed to make reading interactive and fun. Additionally, each child will receive age-appropriate books and a literacy kit, filled with resources like games and tools to help make reading a part of their daily lives.
This event offers an excellent opportunity to foster a love of reading and build a strong foundation for academic success. It’s also a great way to connect with other families in the community and access valuable resources available to support early childhood literacy.
We are also seeking donations of age-appropriate books for children preschool to 3rd grade to ensure every child leaves with something special. If you’re able to help, book donations and other literacy activities can be dropped off at The Literacy Center, 2500 N Rose St., Ste. 102, Flagstaff, AZ 86004, by February 19th. Your generous contributions will help make the Literacy Fair a greater success.
