Oct. 6 — Community Invited to a Celebration of the Pathways to Community Program

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) invite the community to celebrate the opening of the Pathways to Community Program at an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, October 6 from 1 – 3 p.m. at 951 E Sawmill Road, Flagstaff, AZ.

The Pathways to Community Program is a partnership between the Sheriff’s Office and CCHHS, in collaboration with many community partners. This new program brings community and legal resources together in one physical space to support those being released from incarceration as they return to the community. 

Sheriff’s Office Ordering Some Residents to SET Status

From the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office: Due to wildfire, residents in all areas south of 1-40 and west of I-17 including University Heights, Kachina Village, Forest Highlands, Pine Dell, Woody Mountain Road are in SET status.

In addition, South Garland Prairie and Pine Aire Estates and residents in between are in SET status, Residents should begin preparing for possible GO order to EVACUATE.  Follow local news and official social media channels for updates. This means there is danger in the area. Residents are advised to locate your emergency go kit and be ready to evacuate if notified from public safety officials. This is NOT an evacuation notification.

Sheriff’s Office Evacuating Dispersed Camping (South of Williams) Due to Rafael Fire

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is evacuating dispersed camping south of Forest Road 535 from the junction of Forest Road 231 road.

The Sheriff’s Office is also evacuating dispersed camping in the Sycamore Canyon area.

Text to 9-1-1 is now available in Coconino County

The Flagstaff Police Department, in conjunction with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has announce that Text to 9-1-1 is now available to the citizens and visitors within the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. If an individual uses the Text to 9-1-1 system, the call will be routed to the dispatch center responsible for the 9-1-1 calls.

During an emergency or life-threatening situation when seconds matter, a voice call is the best and fastest way for the 9-1-1 call taker to obtain and deliver life-saving information; whereas, a text message may take longer.

Update on COVID-19 in the Coconino County Detention Facility

As of June 12, 2020 the Coconino County Detention Facility in Flagstaff has 6 confirmed COVID-19 positive inmates. There are currently no staff members COVID-19 positive. Since the last media release from May 5th, we have had a total of 22-inmates confirmed COVID-19 positive and 11-Detention Staff members confirmed COVID-19 positive. We have no staff or inmates currently in our Page Holding Facility COVID-19 positive. All our staff who were positive completed the necessary number of self-quarantine days recommended by Local, State Health Departments and CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidelines and have returned to work. All of them experienced little to no health issues. The inmates who tested positive also had no significant health issues nor require medical care outside of the facility. Of those 22-inmates, 12-of them were already confirmed positive prior to arrest and10-inmates were tested while in the facility.
