Caring students think about the world and work to take care of their community and the environment. They remember to treat others as they would like to be treated.
Parents and guardians, you can help too as you interact with your students at home. Some things might include:
  • Modeling caring behavior
  • Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling
  • After watching a movie together, spend some time considering how some of the characters acted and what could they have done differently to show caring behaviors
  • Monitor your student on social media and talk about respectful posts
Role model this attribute. Spend time as a parent or family doing many different things!
Announcements from Principal Popham
FUSD is going 1:1 technology.
What does this mean? Every student will be getting an IPAD of their own in January. Just like a textbook, we will be assigning a brand new IPAD to your student to use during their middle school career. They will be able to take them home and do homework and use in classrooms. Just like a textbook, it will be required that students have them with them at school every day. We are so excited about this roll out. We will be having a grand opening of our new MEDIA CENTER and a parent information night on Dec. 11 from 6-8pm to kick this roll out off.
New Anonymous Reporting
When we return from the Thanksgiving Break, we will be launching an anonymous reporting tool for students, families, and community to report concerns to school site administration. Available at all school sites, the system allows users to submit reports to the appropriate school authorities via an encrypted messaging system that protects the identity of the reporter.
The mobile apps and web-based reporting system provides secure 1-way or 2-way encrypted messages, increasing the flow of important information to school officials. Message topics for submission may include bullying, cyber-bullying, family difficulties, self-harm/cutting, drug and alcohol abuse, student depression, sexual harassment, gang related issues or strange/abnormal student behavior.
All reports remain completely anonymous, although submitters have the option to reveal their identity if they prefer to do so. Reports will be monitored from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Any reports submitted outside of these hours or during holidays will be responded to during the following normally scheduled school day.
