Coconino County’s Sustainability Division is pleased to present the 19th Annual Sustainable Building Tour this month as part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science.
The theme for this year’s tour is The Diverse World of Sustainable Building. The free community tour will be held completely in person on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year’s 19th Annual Sustainable Building Tour will give attendees the opportunity to tour nine separate and very different homes throughout the Flagstaff community and learn about a variety of sustainable building topics.
Sustainable features include:
- Passive solar design, including Trombe walls
- Home electrification, all-electric homes
- Solar PV
- Electric vehicle charging/electric vehicles/e-bike
- Adobe construction
- By Block low-grade waste plastic block construction
- Structural insulated panel construction
- Heat pumps for heating/cooling, heat pump water heater
- Rainwater harvesting
- Building science principles
- and more!
