Sedona Arts Center — Call to Artists

As one of oldest continuously running Plein Air Festivals in the western US, we are planning special events in keeping with that longevity.

The dates of this year’s Festival are October 20-26, 2025. Please NOTE that this year’s Festival is almost entirely by invitation. We will have up to five slots for juried in artists.

Café: Sedona Plein Air Festival

The work selected for this exhibit will capture the essence, spirit, energy, and passion of sport through the lens of art. From traditional to contemporary approaches, all interpretations of sport are welcome as we explore the universal language of sport through visual expression.

Art created by artists, current or former athletes will be considered.

Original art work only. All art mediums will be accepted: 2-d, 3-d, audio and video.

Café: Element of Sport

This summer, Sedona Arts Center will offer its fourth year of Gallery 928, a unique art apprenticeship program for teens ages 15 to 18. Based on Chicago’s infamous Gallery 37 summer public art program started in the 1980s, students will be hired to apprentice with a master artist to create a public art mural for the Sedona Arts Center.

Apprentices will receive art instruction, knowledge of the public art field and develop tangible employment skills like resume building, presentation development and public speaking. Students will also receive a $500 stipend from Sedona Arts Center and 3 free college credits through Yavapai College. Up to 12 students will be selected to participate.

If you are interested in applying, please submit the Gallery 928 application by Friday April 18, 2025 and include letters of reference, and images of your artistic work.
