FLAGSTAFF — Secretary of State Michele Reagan is presenting Tuba City Public Library District officials with a $38,254 grant to encourage community engagement.  In June 2016, Reagan also presented the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library with grants totaling $19,330.

Through a successful partnership between Coconino County and the City of Flagstaff, the City of Flagstaff performs as the fiscal agent for the Coconino County Library District per an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA). The IGA allows for the management and operation of resources at county branches such as the Tuba City Public Library, Grand Canyon Community Library and the Forest Lakes Community Library.

The presentation will be Thursday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tuba City Public Library on 78 Main Street. Please note that Tuba City is one hour ahead of Flagstaff.

The Tuba City Public Library grant money was made possible through the Arizona State Library with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Funds will be used to purchase supplies and to pay for instructors and presenters to implement an arts and crafts programming model. Community members will benefit due to the desire for community engagement, social interaction and the learning of new skills.

Flagstaff Library staff plan to attend the presentation on Thursday, July 28 and the media is welcome to come to the event as well.
