Put your waste in the right place during Flagstaff Drop-off Day on Oct. 23

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Program invites members of the public to participate in Drop-off Day 2021. The event is free and provides an opportunity to properly dispose of items that should not be thrown away in the regular trash.

This event will take place Saturday, October 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Flagstaff Police Department, located at 911 E. Sawmill Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Project partners include the Flagstaff Police Department, the Flagstaff Hazardous Products Center, Elevated Shredding, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, Ponderosa Medial Waste Services and Electronic Responsible Recyclers (ER2). Attendees are asked to remain inside their vehicle during the event. Masks are required of all attendees.

The following items are accepted during Drop-off Day.

  • Aerosol cans
  • Batteries
  • Light bulbs (compact fluorescent lamps)/ fluorescent tubes
  • Electronic waste such as computers, printers and televisions
  • Expired or unwanted medications, vitamins, or supplements
  • Medical syringes
  • Sensitive documents for onsite shredding (maximum of two boxes per person)

 

The following items are not accepted during Drop-off Day.

  • Liquid waste such as latex paint, cough syrup, and other chemicals
  • Drugs
  • Car seats
  • Commercial waste
