FLAGSTAFF — Flagstaff’s City Council will consider an increase in fees for solid waste collection and disposal services at their Nov. 20, 2018 meeting at 6 p.m. Revenue generated from the increase in fees will be used to fund multiple infrastructure projects at the landfill, as well as expand recycling efforts. To educate residents on solid waste needs and plans for utilizing these funds, the city is hosting open houses on the following dates and locations:
- Nov. 16, 12:30 to 1 p.m. – Cinder Lake Landfill (6770 Landfill Rd.)
Each open house will begin with short presentations from staff discussing the rate proposal, impact on monthly bills and the projects and initiatives planned in the near future. Staff will be available to answer questions throughout. Attendees to the Nov. 2 open house will have the opportunity to tour the Norton Environmental facility, which is responsible for sorting all of Flagstaff’s recyclables.
If you have any questions about the rate proposal or the upcoming open houses, please contact Dylan Lenzen at 928-213-2158 or dlenzen@flagstaffaz.gov.
