Nov. 18 — Latino outdoor adventure to Walnut Canyon

FLAGSTAFF — Join us on a Latino outdoor adventure to Walnut Canyon on Saturday, Nov. 18.

FREE entrance to the park! Snacks provided!

Everyone (all all ages, all cultures) is welcomed to this opportunity for a learning and exploring experience. Discover Walnut Canyon with people who share similar interests. This educational hike will delve into the rich history, geology, ecology and beautify scenery of the canyon.

We will meet at the Safeway parking lot on Cedar Avenue (between Little Ceasar’s and the gas pumps) at 9:30 a.m. sharp, organize carpooling arrangements and head to the canyon.

Upon arrival, a ranger will give us a brief orientation and we’ll play a game of LEAVE NO TRACE, hike the Island Trail (one mile loop), learn about public land conservation and have snacks.

We’ll plan to finish the hike by noon.

Presented by Latino Outdoors, Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting and the Outdoors (HECHO), the National Park Service and the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC).

RSVP by Friday, Nov. 10. Call, text or email Latino Outdoors Ambassador Celestine to RSVP and ask questions at 602-582-1328 or send an email to cjt267@nau.edu
