New Sign Code Revisions: Campaign Signs Regulated as Portable Signs

City of FlagstaffFLAGSTAFF — Campaign signs are now classified and regulated as portable signs. A portable sign is defined as any sign not permanently attached to the ground, a building, or other immovable object. This includes A-frames, post signs, feather banners and similar signs that are easily movable. The prior sign code referred to these types of signs as temporary signs

Portable signs, including campaign signs, may not be placed in the public right-of-way or on City-owned property.  Portable signs are only permitted on private property. Commercial properties may have up to 24 square feet of portable signage, and residential properties may have up to 16 square feet.
