Museum of Northern Arizona — Year end at MNA

Message from Mary – Whether lighting candles or strings of lights, this is a time of year we come together with loved ones. It’s also a great time to bring them to the museum, where all ages and interests can find something to enjoy. This weekend
The Force Is With Our People exhibition reopens, with art that crosses cultures, generations, and galaxies. For those more interested in Earth-based adventures, there are awe-inspiring paintings of the Grand Canyon and Mt. Everest. We’re open every day except Christmas, so whether you slip in for some last-minute shopping, or bring the whole family for a visit, we hope to be part of your Happy Holiday.

The eminent landscape painter Tony Foster is well-known for embarking on long journeys to paint incredible scenes in watercolor. For this series he went even farther, from the world’s vastest canyon to the world’s tallest mountain. The journey juxtaposes the greatest of all wild landscapes—the Grand Canyon (USA) and Mount Everest (Nepal and Tibet).
