FLAGSTAFF — Children are invited to bring their piggy banks to the Market of Dreams / Mercado de los Sueños to buy a unique gift for mom, organizers reported in a media release.
“There are many possible gifts at a variety of prices. Mother’s Day is May 10. Or if there is a graduate on your shopping list, the Market of Dreams is your one-stop shopping place. Crafts, arts, clothing, household goods, food items, medicinal balms, greeting cards, and more, all by local artisans, are available,” organizers reported.
The American Association of University Women of Arizona will also present a “Mother’s Day Garage Sale” at the mercado from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9. All the proceeds go toward scholarships, organizers reported.
About the Market of Dreams / Mercado de los Sueños:
The center is a special initiative, grassroots project led by the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association of Flagstaff Inc. in partnership with Northern Arizona University, with seed funding from JPMorganChase.
It is not just an economic project, and not just a cultural project, but an ambitious endeavor designed to weave together both economic and cultural components in a collaborative way, organizers reported. The end result being a vibrant multi-cultural market and micro-entrepreneurship center.
The Market of Dreams is open daily except Monday and is at 2532 E. 7th Ave., at the Southwest corner of the Cal-Ranch parking lot in Flagstaff.
