FLAGSTAFF — With heavenly mariachi music coming from above, more than 150 people took part in a special Mariachi Mass held on Sunday, June 29 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Flagstaff.
The Mass was officiated by the Rev. Patrick Mowrer, pastor of the San Francisco de Asis Parish, and featured the music of Mariachi Sol Azteca de Tucson performing above and behind in the loft.
Following the Mass, worshipers were invited to attend a menudo / posole breakfast fundraiser in the basement. The breakfast was presented by Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces to benefit the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cultural Center’s heritage renovation fund.
Donations to the heritage fund are still being accepted. Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces is f 501c3 nonprofit organization.
