PHOENIX, TUCSON, AND FLAGSTAFF — March For Our Lives Arizona will kick off a month-long get out the vote effort. This Month of Action consists of voter registration, phone-banking, canvassing, and volunteering for local candidates.
March For Our Lives Arizona is a nonpartisan 501c3, 501c4 organization that does not endorse candidates, but is encouraging young activists across the state to get involved with candidates they believe will take a position on gun violence prevention.
“The conversation around gun violence has shifted radically since the start of this movement,” Executive Director Jordan Harb emphasizes, “With gun violence prevention on the minds of voters, especially younger ones, this election will prove critical. That’s why this month we’re mobilizing hundreds of organizers, young and old, across the state to take action and canvass or phone bank for people who will stand with us.”
Since February March For Our Lives Arizona has registered over 3000 high school voters, and this past month has organized voter registration drives in over 50 schools in every congressional district in the state.
Later this month, hundreds of youth activists from across the state will convene for the Youth Leadership Policy Summit on November 3rd with the goal of creating a policy platform with input from all backgrounds and will prepare to lobby in January.
Dawn Motley, a spokesperson for March for our Lives Arizona, states “This year we have seen record-breaking voter registration and turnout efforts here in Arizona. People are paying attention.”
March For Our Lives Arizona has chapters in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson, and Yuma with over 70 chartered high school clubs in the state.
