A few changes are coming to KNAU Weekends beginning July 22.
Soon, after something like thirty years, one of NPR’s most venerable programs, Car Talk, will cease production. The weekend of July 22nd will be the last time we’ll have it on KNAU. It’s been a great run and you’ll still be able to hear episodes of The Best of Car Talk on the internet.

We’ll move Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me up an hour to the ten o’clock Saturday morning time slot. At eleven we welcome The New Yorker Radio Hour. Produced by WNYC and hosted by New Yorker Magazine Editor David Remnick, it’s an eclectic mix of interviews, live performances and reporter pieces that should fit right in to your Saturday mornings. We’ll repeat The New Yorker Radio Hour Sunday afternoon at noon on KNAU News/Talk right after A Prairie Home Companion.

With the media so much in the national news, it seems obvious one of our favorite shows-On the Media-should have a repeat broadcast. It will remain on KNAU News/Talk at two o’clock Saturdays with a new second airing Sunday afternoon at four on Classical KNAU-leading up to Weekend All Things Considered.

More great news: American Routes returns to Saturday afternoon at three, again on KNAU News/Talk. You’ll still be able to hear it again Sunday evening at seven too.

So, we’re losing one great show, adding another, returning a third and repeating a fourth. Farewell to Car Talk, welcome The New Yorker Radio Hour, welcome back American Routesand here’s to more On the Media.
