KNAU Insider prEview – December 29th, 2017
Public Radio Matters and YOU Make a Difference

For home-bound seniors who find a life-line to the world, and for the commuters who cover any number of miles to and from work.

For elementary school students who geek-out on science, and for those teachers who craft lessons involving current events.

For classical music lovers and news junkies, and average, every day people who just enjoy having a thoughtful, balanced, consistent resource to keep them informed and inspired throughout their week.

Public Radio matters…. to you and our community. And your support makes it possible.

Make a difference today with your year-end contribution at KNAU.org.

KNAU New Year’s Day

Monday we continue a Classical KNAU New Year’s Day tradition with the annual live broadcast from Vienna with the Vienna Philharmonic. Marches, waltzes, polkas and maybe even a gallop or two. Pick up where you left off (or maybe keep going) at nine in the morning with New Year’s eye-opener.

Then at six, Politics Takes a Holiday with The Capitol Steps. Musical satire aimed at all your favorites. Some words and phrases guaranteed to be included: “investigation,” “e-mails,” “rocket man” and of course “Putin.”
Symphony Night returns Monday evenings with a new season by the New York Philharmonic. The opening program, “A Winter Jukebox,” features archival recordings going back decades. Music celebrating the winter season by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and many others. In future weeks we’ll offer a program of contemporary music, an all-Stravinsky program, an all-Mozart program as well. Mondays at seven on Classical KNAU.
