We’ll conclude our holiday specials tonight on Classical KNAUwith Handel’s masterpiece “Messiah.” Ton Koopman conductor, with members of the Westminster Symphonic Choir and soloists Sunhae Im, Andreas Scholl, Jörg Dürmüller, and Detlef Roth.

Marketplace Tax Special Tonight at 7

New Name, Renewed Energy.
The program formerly known as A Prairie Home Companion is re-inventing itself as “Live From Here” with Chris Thiele. The new name plays on the energy and enthusiasm at the core of the show. Saturday evening at six, Sunday morning at ten on KNAU News/Talk and Sunday evening at six on Classical KNAU.

Christmas night at seven on Classical KNAU is the final broadcast of the season by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy a complete cycle of all six of J.S. Bach’s wonderful Brandenburg Concertos. January 1st, we begin a series of broadcast concerts by the New York Philharmonic.

Arizona Converts Aid Program For Moms And Kids To Electronic
Arizona has stopped writing checks to families who get federal nutritional and education aid under the Women, Infants, and Children Program known as WIC. The Department of Health Services announced Tuesday that it completed a years long effort to convert the payments to a debit-card system. Learn more at KNAU.org.

Fake’ Ice Makes Warm Weather Skating Real
There has been no snowfall yet this winter in Flagstaff. But that hasn’t stopped the city from opening an outdoor ice skating rink at the downtown train depot. It doesn’t need to be frozen because it’s made out of synthetic ice. Learn more at KNAU.org.
