Podcast Launch: Six Week Podcasting Intensive

In six sessions guided by a facilitator with 20 years of NPR journalism and podcast production experience, you’ll find a clear voice for your podcast within a storytelling framework. Through listening sessions, discussions, and hands-on tutorials, you will finish the course with a constructed podcast episode. Participants will give and receive feedback and support in a safe creative environment.

Photographing Flagstaff’s Dark Skies: Astrophotography Post-Processing
Instructor: John Gartin
The course will introduce various editing apps from basic to advanced; the advantages and limitations of file types (JPEG, RAW); how to start post-processing right away with introductory knowledge; and conclude with introductions to several advanced post-processing tips and tricks, including creating a panorama and image stacking.

On June 28th, the state of Arizona legislature passed the Fiscal Year 2023 budget securing a historic investment for the arts in Arizona. The $5 million appropriation to the Arizona Commission on the Arts is the largest investment in the arts in the history of Arizona. Arizona’s per capita funding for the arts is now comparable to neighboring states such as New Mexico and Nevada.

NightVisions: 21 Tiny Dances
Saturday, July 23, 7 – 9 pm
21 short solo, duet and trio dance/movements representing the number of comets Carolyn Shoemaker witnessed near Jupiter. Performers will include guest artists from Flagstaff and greater Arizona. Images of Jupiter will be projected behind and on the dancers.

Dark Sky Quartet brings together violinists Allison O’Bryant and David Koerner, violist Kimberly Sullivan, and cellist Mary Anne Bruner to adorn the landscapes and skyscapes of Northern Arizona with befitting works of chamber music. Benefit concert for Coconino Center for the Arts and the Dark Skies Coalition.
