Viola Awards: Deadline Extended for Nominations & Panelist Applications We are overwhelmed by the number of nominations that have come in thus far! In an effort to hear from the entire Flagstaff community we have extended the deadline for nominations to January 16th. Don’t Wait, submit a nomination today. Apply to be a Viola Awards Panelist Interested in being more involved wit the Viola Awards? Apply to be a panelist! Panelists have the important job of determining the finalists and winners of the event. Learn more & apply here.
Digital Transformation Micro-Grants Open Monday Open to mission-based organizations including nonprofits, businesses, and other groups as well as individuals wanting to complete a project to support a mission-based organization, the Digital Transformation Micro-Grant offers free workshops and a $500 honorarium to help organizations tell their story. Participants will be able to choose one or both of two workshop series, From TV to Tik-Tok to create a short documentary or audio project, and About Us to create a micro-website creatively communicating the story of impact of your chosen organization. Digital media equipment needed to complete the project will be provided.
The initial deadline to apply is January 31, 2022. Depending on availability of funds applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after the deadline. Take a class in our new Digital Resource & Education Center
Join the Creative Flagstaff team! NAU VISTA Project: Creative Flagstaff Outreach VISTA We are seeking a NAU VISTA to be instrumental in building capacity for Creative Flagstaff by actively participating in fundraising and program development and in leading various projects and components.
Operations Manager (Bookkeeper Full-Charge) Creative Flagstaff is soliciting detail-oriented candidates to fill the Operations Manager (Bookkeeper Full-Charge) position. This position is being offered as full or part time with Bookkeeper Full-Charge being the primary function.
Development Director Creative Flagstaff is seeking a Development Director who loves arts and culture and inspires meaningful connections. An ideal candidate will be well versed in grant-writing, fundraising events, corporate giving, and cultivating long-term donors. They also love putting systems into place.
Youth Art Coconino Center for the Arts’ 2022 Youth Art Exhibition celebrates the outstanding progress and unbounded potential of local youth artists in Flagstaff and the regional community. This year, the exhibition is open to and inclusive of all artwork submissions by youth artists (Pre-K to 12th grade, living in Coconino or Navajo counties) that reflect the following criteria: significant progress in the students’ artistic learning; risk-taking, trying new materials and techniques; and strong potential for continued artmaking.
NightVisions: Call for Artists NightVisions: Cultural Interpretations of the Night Sky is an international juried art exhibition at Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff, AZ that seeks to explore and celebrate our deep connections with the night. In its 8th iteration, we are excited to expand upon the exhibition concept in honor of the legacy of Flagstaff astronomer Carolyn S Shoemaker (June 24, 1929 – August 13, 2021) and her collaborations with husband and geologist Eugene Shoemaker (April 28, 1928 – July 18, 1997), with the inclusion of archival astronomical elements alongside the work of contemporary artists. This exhibition will coincide with the grand opening of CCA’s new Digital Resource & Education Center in May 2022. $2500 in jurors’ awards will be announced at the opening reception.
Parched: The Art of Water in the Southwest travels to the Natural History Institute We are excited to announce that Parched: The Art of Water in the Southwest, a CCA Signature Exhibition is traveling to the Natural History Institute in Prescott. After exhibiting in the CCA main gallery in the Fall of 2020, Parched traveled to the Amerind Museum in Dragoon, Arizona where it was on display during 2021. If you haven’t seen Parched, we encourage you to visit the Natural History Institute or view the virtual exhibition here.
