FLAGSTAFF — GED adult education classes will begin again at Killip Elementary School, the Northern Arizona Interfaith Council Industrial Areas Foundation reported in a media release.
“Thanks to the work of Killip staff, parents, and NAICL leaders, adult education is up and running again at Killip School! County Supervisor Liz Archuleta has dedicated funds to jump-start the program, which will offer GED classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.,” the group reported.
Volunteers are needed for the classes. An orientation class for volunteers and students will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at Killip Elementary School, 2300 E. 6th Ave., Flagstaff, Room 14.
The first phase of the program begins Wednesday, Nov. 13, and runs through December. This is an intensive class for those who plan to take the GED in December, before the test converts to an all-online exam in January, officials reported.
The second phase will begin in January for anyone who is interested in preparing for the GED. Classes will continue Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. Both classes will cap at 16 students.
