Flagstaff Pride is hosting the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico’s Transgender Cultural Fluency Training on Saturday, March 1st, from 10 AM – Noon at The Murdoch Center (203 E Brannen Ave, Flagstaff, AZ).

 About the Training:
Transgender individuals are more visible than ever, yet they continue to face significant challenges, from discrimination to barriers in healthcare, employment, and housing. This training provides an essential foundation for understanding what it means to be transgender, debunking common misconceptions, and equipping participants with the tools to be strong advocates for transgender communities.

Topics Covered:

• Understanding sex, gender, expression, and orientation
• Defining transgender, cisgender, and nonbinary identities
• Breaking down gender norms, stereotypes, and expectations
• Pronoun usage and respectful communication
• The history and prevalence of trans identities
• The realities of transitioning and challenges faced by trans people
• How to be a proactive and supportive advocate
