Flagstaff Police Department to present ‘National Night Out 2017’ on Aug. 1

FLAGSTAFF — Give crime a going away party with informational displays about hands only CPR, city ordinance on animal control topics, bite prevention, local community mentoring programs, drug prevention, gang awareness, school-based health care information, and much more at the annual “National Night Out 2017” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the Flagstaff City Hall Parking Lot, 211 W. Aspen Ave., Flagstaff.

Citizens will have the opportunity to meet with the police officers who work in their neighborhoods. They can learn what is being done near their homes and make suggestions to theri officers for issues that might need attention. Information about neighborhood Block Watches will available. Officers from the Flagstaff Police Department, other local law enforcement and public safety agencies and first responders will have displays and educational materials.

Representatives from the Flagstaff Police Department Citizens Liaison Committee will also be available to answer questions.

The National Night Out, is a year long community building campaign, designed to (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate suppor for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood spirite adn police-community partnerships, and (4) send a message to criinal letting them know that neighborhoods ae organized and fighting back.
