July 7, 2017 agenda City Council Special Meeting

The City Council has previously discussed the Request for Proposals document during its May 23rdand June 27th meetings and received citizen input regarding the project that includes the possible development of three city owned parcels, including the one located at 3500 N. Fort Valley Road; more commonly referred to as the Schultz Pass Property.

The City Council is aware that this is not a typical time or day for meetings, but asks for the public’s understanding in this unusual circumstance.  The council summer break officially began after last night’s regularly scheduled council meeting adjourned and some council members, as well as key city staff, had already made other commitments to their schedules that they cannot change.

A Citizen’s Petition was submitted to the City Clerk during the July 5th council meeting.  This Petition requested a council discussion and consideration of designating the Schultz Pass property as Open Space.  In accordance with the Flagstaff City Charter, Council will discuss this Citizen’s Petition during its next regularly scheduled council meeting on August 15th.  This meeting will occur in the newly repaired Council Chambers at Flagstaff City Hall, 211 W. Aspen Ave, beginning at 6pm.
