Flagstaff City Council passes resolution opposing the proposed fee increase for the Grand Canyon National Park

FLAGSTAFF — Flagstaff’s City Council adopted Resolution 2017-39 at their meeting on Dec. 5, 2017 opposing the proposed fee increase for the Grand Canyon National Park.

“Tourism is vitally important to Flagstaff’s economy,” said Mayor Coral Evans. “The Council opposes these fee increases and the barrier they will create for those who want to visit the Grand Canyon. It is a national treasure and must be kept accessible to all.”

In addition, the Council approved comments to be submitted to the National Parks Service and a letter advocating for federal funding for the National Parks that will be sent to elected leadership.
