Announcement
The Downtown and East Flagstaff Community Libraries will close at 4:00pm on Wednesday, November 23rd & be CLOSED Thursday, November 24th & Friday, November 25th for Thanksgiving. They will be OPEN Saturday, Nov. 26th.
Book Clubs
Southwest Reads Book Club: Lazy B. 4th Monday of every other month at 5:30pm at the Downtown Library. November 28th.
Youth Climate Book Club: Meet on the 2nd Friday each month to have a deeper dialogue about climate with other youth (age 15-25) while discussing a section each month from All We Can Save. Pick up a copy at the Downtown or East Flagstaff library. Friday, December 2nd at 4:30pm, East Flagstaff Library. We'll be discussing the "Advocate" section.
Thursday Night Book Club: Hell of a Book by Jason Mott. December 8th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
LGBT Book Club. December 12th at 6:30pm, in-person at the East Flagstaff Community Library. Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel. Recommended for ages 18 and up.
Banned Book Club: Persepolis. Tuesday, December 13th at 5:30. Downtown Library Community Room. Revolution. Political upheaval. The search for freedom and belonging.  Join us to discuss the memoir as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Senior Book Club at the Joe C Montoya Community and Senior Center. December 19th at 1pm. The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller.
Youth Events
Saturday Story Stop: Saturdays year-round at 10:30am in the downton library community room. Come to a fun-filled morning of storytime for all ages.
Adult & All-Ages Events
iPad Basics. Learn how to get connected, identify common apps, and build confidence using your iPad safely.  You must provide your own technology for this session. Seats are limited and registration is required. Thursday, November 29th at 2pm. Downtown Library.
Smart Phone Basics. Learn how to use your phone securely, avoid scams, connect to WiFi, identify apps, and more!  You must provide your own technology for this session. Seats are limited and registration is required. Thursday, December 1st at 11am. Downtown Library.
Resilience Work Session: Witnessing the Changing Climate. Part of the Climate Resilience Project, Resilience Work Sessions are hands-on workshops to develop skills related to personal and community climate resilience. Saturday, December 3rd at 10am. Downtown Library.
Exploring the Art of Alexander Calder. Tuesday, Decmber 6th at 6pm. Downtown Library. Calder is known for his colorful, abstract sculptures, innovative mobiles, and kinetic art. Calder's work is in many permanent collections and large public spaces. His creativity and originality are remarkable! We will view a broad range of creations by this prolific artist.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
