Adult & All-Ages Events
Archaeology’s Deep Time Perspective on Environment and Sustainability. Environmental Justice & B.I.P.O.C Communities series. Presented by Allen Dart. We’ll look at ancient agricultural techniques and biological and geological climate records to see the value of archaeological study when making modern-day policy decisions. Mon. July 22, 6:00-7:30pm at the Downtown Library.
The Knitting Hour. Want to learn to knit? Need help with a knitting project? Members of the Fiber Artists of Northern Arizona Guild are available to help! All skill levels welcome! Fourth Friday of each month 1 to 3pm Downtown Library Northwest Fireplace.

Southwest Reads Book Club. Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey on July 24th. Coming soon: No Spiritual Surrender by Klee Benally on September 25th. 4th Wednesday of every other month at 6:00pm Downtown Library Community Room.
Banned Book Club: The Outsiders. Tuesday Aug 6th, from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Gang violence. Drug use. Family dysfunction. Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Thursday Night Book Club: August 8 @ 6PM The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. September 12 @ 6PM Bewilderment. October 10 @ 6PM Kindred. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk and meet in the downtown community room or online via zoom!

Summer 2024 Adventure Begins at Your Library Storytimes. BOUNCING BABIES June 14 & July 12 @ 10:30 am Enjoy songs, stories, fingerplays, knee bounces, rhymes, and more with your infant. TODDLER TALES June 18 - July 23 Tuesdays @ 10:30 am Your toddler will delight in this special time for stories, songs, games, and more. Whom shall I nominate? COPPER QUILL AWARDS FOR FLAGSTAFF AND ALL OF COCONINO COUNTY. COME ONE COME ALL NOMINATE YOUR PUBLISHED AUTHOR. WE PROVIDE AN AWARD TO THE WINNER. THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY ARE OPENING UP OUR COPPER QUILL AWARDS FROM FLAGSTAFF RESIDENTS TO ALL OF COCONINO COUNTY. YOU CAN OBTAIN A COPY OF THE APPLICATION FOR THE COPPER QUILL AWARD FROM YOUR LIBRARIAN OR OBTAIN IT FROM THE WEBSITE: www.flagstaffplubliclibrary.org/getinvolved/friends/copper-quill Please read the requirements on our website. After July first the emblem QR code will allow you to complete the application online for those of you who have a computer. Please read the requirements for submitting the application.
