The Downtown and East Flagstaff Community Libraries will be CLOSED Wed. June 19th in honor of Juneteenth.
Adult & All-Ages Events
Adventure Begins at Your Library. Map Keepsake Box Take & Make Kit. Create a box for all your adventurous keepsakes & travel souvenirs out of recycled atlas maps! Instructions and maps are provided. Kits available at the Downtown Library Information Desk, June 1st-30th, while supplies last.
Pride in Your Community: Pride Bingo Night. Adventure begins at your library. Monday, June 10th from 6:30-7:30 PM. Learn more about the various pride flags in this game of bingo! Regular bingo will also be played after. Win prizes and tickets to Pride! Ages 12+. Meeting at the East Flagstaff Community Library 3000 N. Fourth Street Suite 5 Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
Climate resilience work session: Introduction to invasive weeds and identification. Tuesday, June 11 from 6-8pm Foxglenn Park, meet at the Ramada.
Senior Coffee Hour. The 2nd Wednesday of every month @ 10AM. Downtown Library N.W. Corner. Coffee and snacks provided! For older adults age 55+. Game Night, Adventure begins at your library. Summer Reading Challenge Kick-Off. There will be snacks and light refreshments available! Wednesday, June 12 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Meet us at  the trailhead. Saturday, June 15th at 9AM Walnut Canyon Overlook (see event flyer for directions). Learn about local history, flora and fauna from the trail!
Foreign Film: Like Father, Like Son. Ryota is a successful businessman who learns that his biological son was switched with another boy at birth. He faces the difficult decision to choose his true son or the boy he and his wife have raised as their own. (In Japanese with English subtitles). Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. 3rd Monday of every month. June 17th at 1pm The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. Upcoming: The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates on July 15th.

Southwest Reads Book Club. Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey on July 24th.  Coming soon: No Spiritual Surrender by Klee Benally on September 25th. 4th Wednesday of every other month at 6:00pm Downtown Library Community Room.
Banned Book Club: The Outsiders. Tuesday Aug 6th, from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Gang violence. Drug use. Family dysfunction. Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Youth Events
2024 Kick-Off Party. Join us for the first day of the Summer Reading Challenge! Monday June 10th 9 – 11AM. There will be crafts, fun, & staff on hand to help you register.
Adventure Begins at Your Library. POLLINATOR ART LAB. Make art for the Flagstaff Sustainability Office Pollinator Art Contest! Winning art will be displayed at the Arboretum Pollinator Festival on June 16, 2024. *Submission to the Flagstaff Sustainability Office Pollinator Art contest is optional. Adventure begins at your library 2024. Paws to Read. Sign up to read to a real therapy dog! Come to Youth Services, in person, to sign your child up for a reading time. This program is for kids reading independently. June 12th - July 24th. Mondays 2:00 - 4:00pm, Wednesdays 1:00 - 3:00pm. 20 minute sessions. Downtown Library

Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
