FLAGSTAFF — The annual Northern Arizona University Vocal Jazz Madrigal Festival will take place February 9 and 10. It is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the United States and features special guest clinicians and over 140 high school ensembles from Arizona and nearby states. The two-day festival includes a concert featuring the Accent, one of the premier popular vocal ensembles in the world, alongside NAU’s Shrine of the Ages Choir on February 9 and 10 @ 7:30 PM in Ardrey Auditorium.
Accent began in 2011 as an internet collaboration of a cappella vocalists from five different countries. After years of singing together virtually, they performed live for the very first time in 2014. Accent is forging a new path melding contemporary a cappella, jazz and pop into one signature sound.
In addition to Accent, the concerts will also feature NAU’s premier choral ensemble Shrine of the Ages under the direction of Dr. Timothy Westerhaus. This is an opportunity to experience the incredible vocal talent of Accent and NAU’s Shrine of the Ages choral ensemble in one night.
Ticket prices are $20 for adults; $16 for seniors, NAU faculty and staff and non-NAU students; and $10 for NAU and CCC students with ID. NAU School of Music students with ID will be admitted for free. Tickets are available now at NAU Central Ticket Office at (546) 523-5661
