Greetings District 2 Residents,
I hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy as we work together to get through this difficult time. I want to thank you for staying committed to the safety of our community and abiding by social distancing and safety practices during this time. We, as a community, must continue to work together to ensure the health and safety of ALL community members. I know it’s not easy, but together we will get through this.
I want to thank those of you who attended the public Town Hall that the County hosted on May 6. We had a great turnout and are grateful that our community members are engaged and committed to the safety and well being of our residents. If you missed the Town Hall,
you can watch it here. Here at the County we are committed to you all. That is why we are having another COVID-19 testing blitz this weekend. You will find more details about the testing blitz below
or here.
Unfortunately, we have yet to see a 14 day decline in COVID-19 cases here in Coconino County. As of today we are seeing an increase of COVID-19 cases in the County. A reason for the increase, of course, is due to the additional testing guidance and having a physician on hand at our Ft. Tuthill site during the week. With this information I would like to remind you all to continue practicing COVID-19 safety practices, as we are not out of the woods yet with the pandemic. We must all remain vigilant, continue washing our hands, wearing masks in public, and practicing social distancing. Together, we will get through this.
Lastly, and on a positive note, I would like to wish all who identify as a mom a very Happy Mothers Day this weekend. I hope you all will be able to celebrate all moms this weekend in a safe and healthy manner.
In community,
Liz Archuleta,
Chair of the Board of Supervisors and
Supervisor of District 2
