in North Schultz Flood Area
On Saturday August 18, Coconino County Supervisor Liz Archuleta and United way of Northern Arizona held a Day of Caring work day. Several volunteers helped residents remove debris from yards, place sandbags and clean up after the flood. Please visit United Way. to learn about future volunteer opportunities.
Hispanic Heritage Foundation
It’s the 20th Anniversary, and every year, the Youth Awards honors Latino high school seniors nationwide, for their accomplishments in the classroom, their community, and excellence in various educational categories, including:

Public Health Services District Clinic
The 2018-2019 seasonal influenza vaccine is now available at the Coconino County Public Health Services District (CCPHSD) Clinic in Flagstaff. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccination as the first step in protecting against flu viruses. It is strongly recommended that everyone 6 months old and over get a flu shot each year.
Flu shots are available at the CCPHSD Clinic, 2625 N. King Street, Flagstaff, Monday – Friday, 8 – 11 a.m. and noon – 5 p.m., on an appointment basis. Walk-ins are accepted as availability permits. Call the CCPHSD Clinic at 928-679-7222 to make an appointment. The cost for a flu vaccination at the CCPHSD Clinic is $30. As a courtesy, the CCPHSD will bill the insurance company, but those seeking a flu shot should check with their insurance provider to determine whether they are covered and should bring their insurance card. No one will be denied services due to an inability to pay.

Super Service Saturday
Super Service Saturday is back this weekend with select services from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 8 at the County Health and Community Services building, 2625 N. King St. Flagstaff. This family friendly event will offer additional events, information and a bounce house.
People can take advantage of a wide array of services this Saturday, including:
• Sexual Health Clinic – available services and fee information.
• Oral Health screening and fluoride varnish for children ages 0-5 and dental vouchers for adults
• WIC services such as certification and enrollment appointments.
• WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Support Group 10 – 11 a.m.
• Financial Empowerment Workshops. There are no walk-ins for this service, which requires registration
beforehand by calling 928.679.7455.
• Rental/Utility Bill Assistance by appointment. Call 928.679.7455 to register.
• ARIZONA@WORK Job Seeker’s Resources
• Treasurer and Elections Information
• Human Resources will be onsite with information about current job vacancies
• Dog Licensing • PALSmobile, Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library mobile unit will be available.
Visitors can obtain a library card (photo ID required), learn about services and programs available through
the public libraries.
• NAIPTA will provides tours of their fleet and offer a bicycle mounting demonstration.
• Free backpacks will be offered to students who get back-to-school immunizations or sports physicals.
• Superior Court Judge Dan Slayton will attend with information on the merit selection and retention of
Superior Court Judges – Ballot Measure #416.

Future Sustainable Events
Coconino County Sustainable Building Program presents: The 2018 Sustainable Building Tour. This is a great opportunity for a self-guided tour which highlights sustainable living of all kinds. Homes with various construction methods including alternative, recycled, conventional, and regional material will be showcased. In addition, they will also demonstrate rainwater harvesting, grey-water systems, solar PV, and many more sustainable features.
