FLAGSTAFF — From a picnic and dancing at the Grand Canyon to dance workshops and performances in Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon Salsa Festival 2014 provided a wide variety of opportunities for dancers to hone their skills.

The festival was held Sept. 4-7 with the opening night workshop and opening night party at Tranzend Studio Fitness in Flagstaff.

That was followed with additional workshops, social dances and shows held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Flagstaff.

“Our vision is to promote the preservation and education of Latin dances and foster a sense of community by organizing an event that welcomes the general public,” Kati Pantsosnik, co-director, stated in a media release. “Additionally we would like to bring top national and regional talent in Latin dance to our community to teach, perform; creating a warm intimate environment that promotes learning and bonding among attendees, guest instructors, performers and local and regional community members.”
