FLAGSTAFF — The city of Flagstaff has named Dan Folke as the new Community Development Director. Folke participated in an open and competitive recruitment that attracted nearly 60 candidates.
Folke has worked as a professional planner for 22 years, most recently Flagstaff’s Interim Community Development Director since July 2018 and before that as the city’s Planning Director since 2013. Prior to working for the city of Flagstaff, Folke was the Planning Director in Manitou Springs, CO; Planning Director for Morris-Depew & Associates, Fort Myers, FL; and Community Development Director, Town of Fort Myers Beach, FL.
Folke has a Master of Science in Urban Studies from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University Wisconsin-Whitewater. Folke is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and earned his Public Manager certification (CPM) from Arizona State University in 2017.
