FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff is excited to announce the completion of the Core Services Maintenance Facility. The new Core Services Maintenance Facility will house various Public Works Sections including the Street Maintenance Section, Solid Waste and Recycling Section, and Fleet Maintenance Section.
The existing Public Works Yard located in downtown Flagstaff on Mogollon Street has served as the Public Works Facility for nearly 70 years. The current facility is no longer large enough to maintain all necessary vehicles and equipment needed to provide essential services to the community. Additional space on the property will allow for future development and other Public Works sections to move to the facility, as needed.
“We at the City are excited to be delivering on the completion of our Core Services Maintenance Facility and the promise made to the voters of Flagstaff in 2012,” said Public Works Director Andy Bertelsen. “This facility will allow our core service operations to provide the services expected by our citizens of Flagstaff today and into the future.”
The public is invited to the Core Services Maintenance Facility Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, June 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tours of the facility will begin at 3 p.m. The new facility is located at 3200 W. Route 66.
