March 10-16 is AmeriCorps Week 2019, a celebration of the national service initiative that began in 1994 and the work done by members across the country. We’re excited to welcome Camille Keith on board as a new AmeriCorps VISTA member, Coconino County District 5 Community Engagement Coordinator in Tuba City. Camille is working in Supervisor Lena Fowler’s office as well as with Parks & Recreation staff in Louise Yellowman County Park.

Join Lowell Observatory for their program, Deep Time, that explores the connection between geological and astronomical calculations of deep time.

Value of Archaeology
Celebrate Arizona Archaeology & Heritage Awareness Month with The Flagstaff City – Coconino County Public Library as they host a talk by Jason Nez, an independent Diné Archaeologist. Jason will discuss the importance of landscapes, artifacts, and Native American identity.

Flagstaff Community Seed Swap
Join Flagstaff Foodlink, Coconino County Cooperative Extension, Flagstaff Sustainability Program, and the Grow Flagstaff Seed Library at the Coconino County Cooperative Extension office for a community seed swap. Seeds are a great way to share our local food heritage.

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, and Flagstaff Festival of Science is celebrating with year-round events. Join this lecture series and learn about Flagstaff’s connection to the Apollo Moon Missions.

Willow Bend Environmental Education Center
The mission of the Willow Bend Environmental Environmental Center in Flagstaff, Arizona, is to provide education outreach services that build environmental awareness and an ethic of responsible stewardship of our natural and cultural resources. They are located adjacent to Sawmill Multicultural Art & Nature County Park.
Staff and volunteers from Willow Bend lead community and school programs, tours, and foster a connection to the natural and cultural world. Thank you for the work you do!
