ARIZONA TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS
This summer, Arizona Trail Association volunteers and Coconino County Parks & Recreation staff began the process of replacing 13 miles of dirt roads with singletrack on Arizona Trail Passage 35, known as the Babbitt Ranch segment. So far, 7 miles of trail have been completed on this segment that runs from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. Coconino County helps maintain this portion of the Arizona Trail under an agreement with Babbitt Ranches and Arizona Trail Association, and provides funds, technical expertise, and other resources like staff time and equipment to support trail construction.
Are you interested in volunteering in 2020? Check out Arizona Trail Association.
LISTEN TO WILDLIFE PODCASTS
Are you looking to learn more about wildlife in northern Arizona? Arizona Watchable Wildlife Experience provides education and conservation through partnerships, summer workshops, and wildlife podcasts. And while you’ll have to wait until January to experience the next wildlife workshop, you can go online now and hear 19 podcasts that feature natural and cultural history at multiple sites around the County.
