LOOKING TO CONNECT MORE WITH YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, & LOVED ONES?

Visit your parks, natural areas, and open spaces during the month of July and celebrate Park and Recreation Month! Parks and recreation organizations across the country contribute to healthy communities by providing spaces where people can be get healthy and stay fit, contribute to mental well-being, and be a gathering place for all. Plus, parks, natural areas, and open spaces contribute to green spaces and increased biodiversity, green infrastructure to help storm water runoff and retention, and even increased property values. PATRIOT NATIONS SPECIAL EXHIBIT

The Fort Tuthill Military History Museum is pleased to present a special exhibition from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian “Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation’s Armed Forces.” Visit the exhibit this summer, Saturdays & Sundays through July 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This exhibit is made possible through the support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. July 20, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of a human setting foot on another world. Join Lowell Observatory as we celebrate Flagstaff’s part in getting humans on the moon all those years ago. More event info online.

AWWE-Some Summer Series: Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, & Raptors

Sunflower Flat Wildlife Area is a beautiful wooded area with extensive wetlands, located south of Williams. During this watchable wildlife event, you’ll hopefully observe numerous waterfowl at one of the ponds or wet meadows, and there’s a good opportunity to see pronghorn, mule deer, elk and even javelina. Fort Tuthill Military Museum

The Fort Tuthill Military Museum preserves and presents the distinguished history and traditions of the 158th Infantry Regiment, 158th Regimental Combat Team, and current 1st Battalion 158th Infantry Arizona National Guard. Exhibits trace the history of the regiment from it’s organization in 1865 as the 1st Regiment Arizona Volunteers to 1967 retirement of the Regimental Colors and 2005 organization and Afghanistan deployment of 1st Battalion 158th Infantry. Visit the Museum Saturdays & Sundays during the summer, from May through October.
