Wishing everyone a very happy 4th of July! Administrative offices will be closed for the holiday, but parks and natural areas are open. Remember to recreate safely and responsibly!

Coconino County Fair Schools Day

The Coconino County Fair is a great experience that teaches young people about the traditions of agriculture, as well as home economics, crafts, floriculture, fine arts, hobbies, gems and minerals, and more. It also provides entertainment from a variety of artists. We know that field trips can be expensive, and the Coconino County Fair wants to invite schools and home schools to Schools Day, Friday, August 30th, to enjoy the fair for FREE!

The chaperone ratios for admission are:

· Pre-school – Kindergarten = 1 chaperone per 5 students

· Grades 1 – 3 = 1 chaperone per 5 students

· Grades 4 and up = 1 chaperone per 8 students

· Home School = 1 chaperone per 4 students

Any additional chaperones must purchase admissions at the main entrance or online at www.CoconinoCountyFair.com.

Schools and home schools interested in participating must pre-register onlinehere. No walk-up registrations will be accepted. The deadline to register is August 19th.

School’s Day, Friday, August 30th, goes until 2:00 p.m.

Important Note: This year, to reduce Fair related traffic, we are asking:

·        Homeschool Groups pick up their packets the day of School’s Day, Friday, August 30th. Check-in will begin at 9:45a.m. at the Navajo Ramada (please refer to the map included). Homeschool groups may be asked to furnish additional identification upon check-in. Please wait near the Navajo Ramada (see map attached) until D-Gate opens at 10 am.

·        All school groups, please secure transportation PRIOR to registering for School’s Day. We will deliver your classroom packet to your school the week of August 26th. Please do not arrive any earlier than 9:45am. Please wait near the Navajo Ramada until D-Gate opens at 10am.

Gates do not open until 10:00 AM, groups will not be allowed to enter the fair prior to opening hours.

School’s Day Packets will have a Passport Activity to complete at the Fair. Students that complete the Passport Activity and turn it in afterwards with the Information Booth will be entered into a drawing for a prize! Good luck and happy learning!
