January Leave No Trace Challenge
Coconino County is a beautiful place to call home! Winter is a magical time here, with much of the county becoming a winter wonderland! We love winter recreation, cozy snow days, and the snow pack that keeps our forests healthy. If we all work together, we can keep Coconino County beautiful and keep our wildlife safe this winter!
Let’s commit to a Leave No Trace Challenge! Pack out all trash, including broken sleds. Recycle all items that may be recycled. For more information on recycling, click here! Stay on trails and designated snow play areas. Do not park or play on highways and roadways. Have bathroom plans and locate bathrooms and outhouses when playing in the snow. Protect our trees by not breaking branches, carving into bark, or otherwise damaging them. Respect people’s homes by not recreating on private property or blocking driveways.
Remember: the Fort Tuthill Bike Park is closed and sledding is not allowed on the bike features. Sledding damages the bike features, which makes them unsafe for bikers. Damage can result in repairs which may delay the opening of the Bike Park.
Have you seen litter while recreating? Pick it up and let us know about your good deeds! Tag Coconino County Parks and Recreation in your photo and use the hashtags #LeaveNoTrace and #RecreateResponsibly to spread the word!
Together, we can make a difference! |
