COCONINO COUNTY — The National District Attorney’s Association (NDAA) recently recognized Coconino County Attorney Bill Ring as the recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Prosecutor of the Year Award.
The Distinguished Prosecutor of the Year Award is presented annually by the NDAA, which is the oldest and largest professional organization representing criminal prosecutors across the country. Ring was selected from 22 other nominees from prosecution agencies nationwide. This honor is bestowed upon an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, integrity, and excellence in the field of prosecution.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said Ring. “This recognition not only reflects my personal commitment to justice but also highlights the collaborative efforts of my colleagues and the community. Together, we strive to make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.”
County Attorney Ring’s legal career spans 35 years. He began his career serving in the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Coconino County Attorney’s Office before opening his own practice in 2001. Ring returned to the Coconino County Attorney’s Office in 2012 where he served as the Senior Civil Attorney. In 2016, he was elected Coconino County Attorney.
During his time as Coconino County Attorney, Ring has served in various leadership positions at the local, state, and national level. He currently serves as a Board Member for the NDAA and as a Delegate on behalf of NDAA to the American Bar Association. He also serves as Chairperson for the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys Advisory Council, which provides training and resources to several hundred prosecutors throughout Arizona. County Attorney Ring is also a frequent lecturer for the NDAA and State Bar of Arizona, where he teaches attorneys about their ethical responsibilities.
