CCC&Y board approves new Action and Outreach Initiatives for 2020-2021

 

FLAGSTAFF — The board of the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth voted on Jan. 27 to approve a series of Action and Outreach Initiatives for 2020-21.

The policies cover education, child welfare, environmental equity, incarcerated parents / justice reform and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

CCC&Y is a non-partisanorganization who supports educated, engaged and participatory communities.

Deadline is Feb. 11 to submit nominations for Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth’s 2020 Caring for Children Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2020 Caring for Children Awards, recognizing outstanding individuals from throughout Coconino County who work to make this a better place for our youngest community members.

2020 Viola Award Finalist for Excellence in Education — Dr. Alice Christie. See more local education news here

Dr. Alice Christie has dedicated her life to serving others. Currently in her 54th year as an educator, she taught in the K-12 arena for 20+ years, was a professor of education at Arizona State University for 20+ years and spent 9 years traveling to 37 states to provide STEM education workshops to over 5000 PK-12 teachers. In 2017, she founded and self-funded Tynkertopia, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in Flagstaff.
