City of Flagstaff to re-advertise city manager position this fall

FLAGSTAFF — The Flagstaff City Council has worked to recruit the next City Manager since March 2018. The Council received 106 letters of interest and selected eight of those applicants for further consideration. After an initial phone screening and before the community had a chance to meet the short-listed candidates, a number of finalists withdrew due to personal circumstances. This prevented the Council from executing a competitive recruitment process.

In response to these changes, the Flagstaff City Council will re-advertise the City Manager position this fall, the current council hopes to have a candidate pool available for the incoming council so that they can review and select applicants.

At an upcoming council meeting, prior to Oct. 12, 2018 the council will consider the potential appointment of acting City Manager, Barb Goodrich to serve as City Manager until a new manager is selected.
