FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff received a 3CMA Savvy Award at the group’s annual conference on Sept. 7, 2017. The award recognized the City’s educational campaign and pledge success for the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation.
For this Challenge, Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans joined mayors across the country asking residents to make a long-term commitment to use water resources more wisely. Flagstaff residents pledged to reduce water use by 82.3 million gallons of water over the next year. To support this outreach effort, the City of Flagstaff Water Services Department developed a comprehensive Water Awareness campaign to assist citizens with increasing awareness of water-use habits and determining where they can reasonably reduce their water use.
“This award in an important recognition of the pledges made by Flagstaff residents” said Mayor Coral Evans. “This also highlights the City Council’s dedication to community outreach and engagement and the positive impact it can have.”
Savvy Awards are given to recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. Nearly 700 entries in 34 categories were received. Volunteer judges from across the United States reviewed the entries. Flagstaff’s award recognized the content and consistency in the City’s digital and physical advertising.
